CHANDIGARH: Perhaps as a prelude to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the conduct of possible elections to the State Assembly, the Punjab Governor, Mr Virendra Verma, is taking a serious view of the allegations of excesses levelled against top police officials, it is reliably learnt. This assertiveness is proved by the fact that he has ordered immediate transfer of two senior superintendents of police, Mr Rajinder Singh (Bathinda), and Mr Brajinder Kumar (Gurdaspur), against whom there were allegations of excesses, conduct and style of functioning.
