LAHORE: Pakistan has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for a most unusual reason the world’s lowest male female ratio, at 1,000 men to every 936 women.

Quoting statistics, “Nation” Says women suffer a lower life expectancy than men. The major reason for Pakistani women’s poor health status lies in the discrimination she faces from the time of her birth, the Lahore daily says quoting Pakistani Press International (PPI).

According to a report female deaths in that country between 15 and 40 years of age are 75 percent more than male deaths despite the fact that male deaths predominate in accidents, a major killer,

On significant reason for so many deaths the daily says, is the extremely high rate of maternal mortality. Pakistan has one of the highest rates in the world, at six to eight deaths per 1,000 deliveries.
