WSO is the only Sikh organization outside occupied Khalistan which has enshrined the will and aspirations of the Sikh Nation as ordained by the Khalsa Panth and recited by all Sikhs in their daily prayers “RAJ KAREGA KHALSA’ in its constitution. The Key objectives of the organization are:

* Promoting of Sikh religion.

* Creation of sovereign KHALISTAN.

Since the formation of the WSO the dedicated and sincere workers of the organization have worked hard to fulfill their obligation and commitment to dedicatedly serve the Sikh cause with Tan, Man, and Dhan without expecting or receiving any monetary or other compensation.

Due to the collective and sincere efforts of these dedicated members the organization has made significant contributions in several areas. A detailed description of all the efforts made by the WSO is beyond the scope of this report. This report only provides a synopsis of some of the major projects undertaken by the WSO.

  1. Support for Freedom Fighters

This is the top most priority of the WSO. An organization and/or individual(s) cannot effectively contribute to the Sikh cause without collaboration and association with the freedom fighters. During the past several years WSO members have maintained close contacts with the freedom fighters, have provided them support directly and in collaboration with other organizations. WSO members and executive openly align with the freedom fighters and appeal for their support. It’s the freedom fighters blood which is keeping the glow of freedom alive and ultimately will bring glorious dawn of freedom on our land.

  1. Support for Freedom Fighters Legal

WSO has spent over half a million dollars to provide legal and moral support for Dr. Virk, Jasbir Singh, Varinder Singh, Ranjit S. Gill, Sukhminder Singh Sandhu and several other Sikh young men. WSO New York chapter, particularly the management committee and sangat of the New York Sikh Cultural Society deserve special recognition for their efforts to save the lives of these young men.

WSO office bearers and members directly aligned and associated with the freedom fighters, visited them in jails and detention centers, went to their hearings, and openly conveyed our message to the Government of India that these Sikh soldiers are jewels of the Sikh Nation and the Whole Sikh Nation solidly stands behind these jewels.

  1. Public Awareness

The barbaric Indian government has attacked the Sikh Nation by using all the resources available to her. She unleashed her corrupt and immoral armed forces to kill the innocent Sikhs and destroy their property. She also is using her media and financial resources to spread misinformation against the Sikhs in India and abroad.

Our brave freedom fighters are laying down their lives to defend the rights our people and we support their efforts with Tan, Mar and Dhan. WSO also under took the responsibility tc counter this false propaganda by various means. Some of the steps taken by WSO to promote the Sikh viewpoint and counter Government propaganda are briefly described below.

Use of News Media and Establishment of World Sikh News

This paper was established in December 1984 to promote the Sikh cause. Since then the paper has consist entry promoted the Sikh cause and exposed the inhumane and terroristic activities carried out by the government of India. This paper has become a source of information for various human rights organizations and political bodies. During the past 5 % years over one million dollars has been spent on this effort. Our Stockton chapter, particularly Dr. Gurinder S. Grewal, President World Sikh News and Director of WSO Governing Council, has very generously contributed his time and financial resources in this project and deserves a special recognition. The paper is progressing due to his commitment and special contribution.

  1. Political Awareness

WSO recognizes the need and importance of political awareness. Immediately after its formation WSO opened its office in Washington DC and contracted with Mr. dim Carmon to launch a counter offense against the faIse propaganda of the Indian government. Our efforts paid their dividend.

All are invited to attend the 3rd World Sikh Convention on July 28

On March 25, 1985 18 members of the U.S. Congress sent a letter to the Indian Ambassador demanding an investigation to the October 1984 Delhi Massacre.

On May 20, 1985 Congressman Dan Burton wrote a letter to President Reagan regarding the human rights violations in Punjab.

Since then WSO through its members has actively carried out this campaign. Dr. dasbir S. Gilland other members of the Stockton chapter worked closely with Congressman Norman Shumway from Stockton, California, who in January 1987 held a first Special Order in the U.S. Congress to discuss the Punjab issue.

In November 1986 Congressman Wally Herger got elected to the U.S. Congress from the Yuba City area. Being a close friend of S. Didar S. Bains, he took an active interest in the Sikh issue. In October 1988 he discussed with Sardar Bains his idea of introducing legislation in the U.S. Congress against the Government o! India. During this time Modesto chapter was actively working with their Congressman Tony Coelho. In January 1989 Congressmen Herger and Coelho jointly introduced HR 1067 in the U.S. Congress. This was cosponsored by several other Congressmen from California.

This is an ongoing process and WSO will continue its efforts to work with our elected representatives. Al. though every member has made a significant contribution, however the contribution made by S. Didar Singh Bains in this area is above and beyond the means and expectations of an average individual. We are highly indebted to Sardar Bains for his sincerity and dedication to the cause.

  1. Other Activities

WSO sponsored the visits of Justice Ajit S. Bains and S. Darbar S. Gill representatives of the Punjab Human Rights Organization, and arranged their meetings with the congressmen and State Department representatives. WSO sponsored protest demonstrations, information seminars, and other community activities.

This summary indicates that WSO has pleaded the Sikh cause at all levels by utilizing all the resources available to the organization. Our mission (liberation of Khalistan) is still unaccomplished. I appeal to you to let us unite our resources and fulfill our obligation by providing collective and organized leadership.
