NEW DELHI: India has no information that Sri Lanka was seeking military help from Pakistan and some other countries to meet the threat by the LTTE. An external affairs ministry spokesman here said.
He was commenting on a reported statement by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that he expected the Pakistani troops to get involved in Sri Lanka.
Gandhi said at a meeting in Assam that there was a possibility that the Sri Lankan government, faced with the rise of Tamil chauvinism, would seek help from Pakistan,
“Pakistan would not hesitate to send troops to Sri Lanka which would be disastrous,” he said.
