Sir, On April 14, the Sikh Sangat of Modesto/Ceres celebrated Baisakhi in community hall, Ceres. After kirtan there were some speakers and one of them was Dr. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh.

For a while he spoke about the sufferings of the Sikhs in India and what is being done about it in America. In his speech he mentioned the importance of Oct 7, 1987. I thought very deeply about what had happened on that day. But could not remember that important day, a while Dr. Aulakh mentioned that, that was the day when ISO was formed. I wondered why he did not mention the importance of his own birthday when self-styled president of Khalistan was born. In my memory there is another organization which was formed in 1984 right after the army attack on Golden Temple, Amritsar joined and became part of that organization. Somehow he left out that organization. Maybe because he could not be President of that organization.

He also spoke about Sikh newspapers being the agents of government of India. He does not like the newspapers where his picture is not printed on the front page every week and which don’t accept him as the president of Khalistan. I have known the people who are supporting the Sikh newspaper for a long time. The only difference between Mr. Aulakh and those people is that Dr. Aulakh earns his living by creating disturbances in gurdwaras and getting money from the management committees, if any committee refuses to give him money he sends his people to create a disturbance. The newspaper supporters earn money and support the paper with whatever is left after taxes and needed to support their family.

If Dr. Aulakh is sincerely dedicated to the cause of Sikh welfare he should think before he throws mud on others and accuse other dedicated people.

Modesto/Ceres sangat has been a good friend of congressmen and the credit does not go to just one individual but to the whole community.

I suggest Dr. Aulakh to clean his backyard before bringing in and throwing around dirt on others. He should not spread hatred and blow fire that is not the quality of a good leader. He should either apologize for what he said or prove it. Everyone knows that talk is cheap.
