On the eve of Vaisakhi, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, carrying the mantle of Guru Nanak Dev ji, ordained the Khalsa and struck a devastating blow to caste divisions and Brahmin ‘superiority.’ The Sikh religion is an egalitarian faith which believes and practices the equality of all men and women regardless of race, color or creed. The Sikhs have no enemies except those who oppress others like, the Mughal as well as the Hindu hill kings of centuries ago, the British more recently and the Brahmins today.
“If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it to be true,” said the infamous Goebbels. It is no surprise that he was a Sanskrit scholar, the ancient language of Brahmins. The Nazi “Master Race’ arguments have an uncanny resemblance to the polemics advanced to prove the so called superiority of the Brahmins.
The lie that Muslims and Sikhs are enemies has been perpetuated by Brahmins long enough, It has no basis whatsoever, in fact recent studies by scholars reveal an affinity between the two faiths, and recent events have demonstrated the same between the two peoples.
Sikh and Kashmiri freedom fighters have come together. To counter this Indian government has started spreading lies about so called Muslim victimization of the Hindus and Sikhs in Kashmir. Note, how they still lump Sikhs with them. We are not Hindus and the recent rash of reports in the Indian press, particularly the vernacular dailies, of the alleged Kashmiri Muslim violence against the Sikhs is a volley in a carefully orchestrated psychological war.
Reports of the Sikhs being asked to wear green turbans and of the abduction of four Sikh girls in Jammu may or may not be true. Experience of government run gangs in Punjab has demonstrated that there is no dirty trick in the Arthshasthra which will not be resorted to including arranged killings, kidnappings, and extortions to discredit the freedom movements. Remember Alam Sena and Santokh Singh Kala? Soft ‘Target proved that the machinations are worldwide.
Kashmiri leaders have denied all such reports and have called them the handiwork of the Indian intelligence agencies. One Kashmiri leader in the US was at pains to tell us how perturbed he was at these reports and assured us that they were not true comrades.
News reports originating from India over the past few years have often priced to be disinformation. The Indian government is very scared about the alliance between the Sikhs and the Muslims which could crystallize the freedom movements in other parts of the subcontinent and disintegrate India, These are desperate measures and Sikhs more than ever need to be on guard.
The decadent Mughal kings of a decaying empire, found Raj Kaul, the Kashmiri forefather of Jawaharlal Nehru to be their Kotwali. Congress I had Buta Singh and Janata Dal as a Kashmiri Mufti Sayeed in the modern day equivalent of Kotwal, the Home Minister.
The Delhi Durbar is unraveling at its seams. Sikhs extend their solidarity to their Muslim brethren and to all the minorities being persecuted in India, including the Dalits and Christians. We all have for forge close links in our common fight for freedom.
Both Panthic Committees have come out strongly in backing the struggle in Kashmir.
