MALANDA: More than 25 people were charred to death and at least 50 suffered burn many serious when fireworks meant for display caught fire and exploded around midnight last night.
The fire broke out in the building within the temple premises, in which the fireworks were stored,
Eighteen persons were killed on the spot.
Official reports received at Kollam said thousands of people had arrived at the temple to witness the fireworks display scheduled to begin at around 0300 hours (local time).
Official sources said the directorate of health services had been instructed to provide additional facilities,
