NEW DELHI: Prime Minister VP Singh rejected outright the reported offer of Pakistan Premier Benazir Bhutto for talks on Kashmir issue and said it was an internal matter of India.

Singh gave his views on Bhutto’s “unconditional offer” to hold discussions with India on Kashmir, first to reporters accompanying him on the special Air India flight to home from Nambia and later while talking to journalists on landing here.

He said, “as far as Kashmiris concerned it is an internal matter and Pakistan had no right to interfere in it. It will be solved by talking to the people of Kashmir. There is no need for somebody to come in between.”
