Respected Mr. Maddon,
We were very glad to read in the newspapers that you will be visiting Punjab and Kashmir to see for yourself the human right situation in that part of the world.
We sent a letter to Congressman Stephen Solarz of the U.S, Congress, a great friend of India, which details the physical, psychological and statistical genocide of the brave and God fearing Sikhs in India. I am glad to report that the letter did touch Congressman Solarz as he made a strong plea in December 1989 while visiting Delhi to allow Amnesty International into the Punjab. Unfortunately his appeal had no effect on the ruling Indian Brahmin elite as they have so much to hide and want to continue with the systematic elimination of any Sikh leaders that may emerge from time to time, as is obvious from the murders of J. S. Khudian M.P. Sandhu and a few others.
The past six weeks have also seen repetition of this genocide in Kashmir where hundreds of people have been gunned down Jallianwala Bagh a lone incident in a century of foreign rule for which we condemned the British Colonial Administration so vehemently was a picnic as compared to what has been going on in Kashmir and Punjab. We wish the British had stayed as your rule was a thousand times more just and allowed the common man the pursuit of happiness in safety.
Your visit will be a success if you can save one life in Kashmir OF Punjab by restraining these Hindu fascists.
Yours sincerely AS Shaikh, Chicago,IL.
