LUCKNOW: Noted environmentalist and Chipko movement leader, Sunderlal Bahuguna has ended his five day old fast demanding stoppage of further construction of the Tehri Dam project.
Irrigation minister of UP Reoti Raman, said Bahuguna, ended his fast on Wednesday following an appeal made by the state government.
Singh said a meeting between him and federal minister for energy Arif Mohad Khan and federal minister of state for environment and forest, Maneka Gandhi had been convened at Delhi on January 22 to discuss the issue. Bahuguna has also been invited to attend the meeting.
