WASHINGTON: Union Carbide spokesman Bob Berzor has voiced Union Carbide’s confidence that the effort of India’s ruling national front government to reopen the issue of compensation for the Bhopal disaster will fail.
Berzor told the press: “no information has come to light that would suggest the Indian supreme court’s assumptions that were used in ordering a settlement were incorrect.”
A settlement was reached between the multinational union carbide and the Indian government for 470 million dollars in the world’s worst industrial disaster.
