NEW DELHI: The bureau of Dalai Lama here Thursday welcomed the Chinese government’s decision to lift martial law in Beijing.
However, the bureau said, “It was a Clear indication of the grave and serious situation in Tibet”.
The Chinese leaders, the bureau said, “must realize the fact that through repression and force, it is not possible to solve the problem.”
“The sooner the martial law and all repressive measures associated with it are withdrawn, the easier it would be to start a dialogue for a peaceful solution on the basis of the five-point peace proposal made by the Dalai Lama,” the bureau said.
