CHANDIGARH: The Panthic Committee has said that the Punjab problem is in fact the problem of India and it cannot be solved without the creation of Khalistan.
In a letter to VP Singh, Devi Lal, Governor Mukharji and the press, the Committee said, the Sikhs would either govern themselves or die fighting to achieve freedom.
The letter said “Your Excellency has been made leader by this great country and you must make an earnest effort to hear the viewpoint of the Sikhs. This will not be given to your by the discredited Sikh leaders rejected in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Nor even from Simranjit Singh Mann who was obviously buckled during his incarceration and inhuman torture in Bhagalpur jail and elsewhere.
The letter said the other MPs were inconsequential because the true representatives of the Sikh movement for Khalistan did not contest for various reasons.
The letter said the Sikhs had nothing against India or its people except the hegemonistic Brahmins who were at the root of all evil Causing religious and caste dissensions in India.
The letter assured the prime minister that we would reciprocate to make the Sikh state of Khalistan a friend of India. The Sikhs are the third party after the Indian National congress and the Muslim league who were recipients of sovereign power after the British left.
The letter was unsigned but carried the printed names of Dr. Sohan Singh, Bhai Mahal Singh, Bhai Satinderpal Singh, Bhai Wadhawa Singh and Bhai Nirmal Singh Nimma.
