DHAKA: At least forty four people died in the cold wave sweeping through Bangladesh during the past one week with mercury touching down four degree Celsius at the northern Tentulaia, reports said.
About 200 others, mostly old and children had been hospitalized.
‘The northern districts of Rangpur, Kurigram and Panchegarh were the worst hit accounting for 18 deaths while eleven others died in Pabna, seven in Manikganj, three in Savar and Dhamrai, three in Gopalganj and two in Brahmanbaria.
