NEW YORK, NY: A video cassette entitled “A tribute to Guru Gobind Singh” was released at a function at Mughal restaurant in. Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y., by the Sikh Broadcasting Network on January 13 the birth anniversary of the tenth Guru of the Sikhs and the creator of the Khalsa.
The three hour video cassette has been produced by Amarjit Singh and is a tribute to the tenth Guru on his 323rd Birth Anniversary.
It consists of one hour documentary on the life of the tenth Guru which was made by S. Mohinder some years ago. Two hours of Kirtan by very eminent Ragi Jathas was recorded on different occasions at the Sikh Cultural Society in Richmond Hill. N.Y.
Those who rendered Kirtan include Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Sant Singh, Bhai Jaswant Singh Paras, Bhai Avtar Singh and Bhai Gurcharan Singh, as well as Bhai Shamsher Singh Zakhmi.
There is also a poem by Sabar Hussain Sabar on Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the original documentary has been rendered in English for children.
Talking to the World Sikh News Amarjit Singh said that the next project of SBN would be a video cassette to teach Gurmukhi to the children. Sponsors were needed for the project, he added.
