NEW DELHI, India: Mr. Ram Jethmillani, a well-known advocate, has told the Prime Minister to release the Akali leaders from the prisons and start a political dialogue with them to solve the Punjab problem.
He further told Mr. Rajiv Gandhi that he was prepared to mediate with or without the assistance of his emissaries like Mr. Sushil Muni or Mr. Sunil Datt. Mr. Jethmullani conveyed these views to the Prime Minister in a letter dated August 11, 1987 which was released to the press.
