LUDHIANA: Mr. C. Pal Singh, Inspector General, PAP and deployment has been made the new Inspector General of Police, Border Range, in place of Mr. Chaman Lal, who has proceeded on leave because of his differences with the top brass of the Punjab Police.
Mr. C. Pal Singh is a seasoned and competent officer, who has been instrumental in bringing about radical changes in the training of the States police force to meet the challenge of freedom fighters. He belongs originally to the CRPF.
Mr. Sube Singh, IG (crime) has been given additional charge of PAP and Deployment.
Mr. Sarabjit Singh DIG Ferozepur Range has been shifted to Amritsar as DIG, border range, in place of Mr. S. K. Verna who takes the position of Mr. Sarabjit Singh at Ferozepur.
Mr. Chaman Lal, who has gone on leave as a protest against the entry of Mr. Jasbir Singh Rode into Harmander Sahib, is likely to be posted to Delhi as IG (Police Telecommunications).
