SIKH children’s Jatha of Gur Sikh Gurdwara of Buffalo, in Williamsville, New York. There are about 2530 families who are actively involved in the organization. Gurdwara officials work hard to train children in Gurbani and Sikh history. Gurdwara Sahib was inaugurated in Nov. 1983. Since then they have been holding a Gurbani mukabla twice a year. Groups are divided in different deeds. Japji Sahib is divided in four levels, Rehras Sahib in ‘two levels, Kirtan Sahib and Swayyai in one level and Jap Sahib and Anand Sahib in the last level.
There are at least five children who are excellent in performing Ardas during the regular diwans. In addition to memorizing Gurbani, children are also actively performing Kirtan diwan. Recently they participated in a kirtan competition in Pittsburg Gurdwara and won a trophy. On behalf of the whole community we must congratulate the Sikhs of Williamsville for keeping the spirit alive and passing on the light of Sikhs to the Sikhs of tomorrow. Trophies are given to winners in these competitions.
