NEW DELHI: The Union Home Minister S.B.Chavan last week, said that his observation in Parliament, on Feb.14, that the United States was trying to create problems for India in Jammu and Kashmir, would not affect the relations between New Delhi and Washington.

Talking to a small group of reporters, Mr. Chavan said his observations were a comment on a point raised by members while participating in a debate on Kashmir and were based on a research and development document of the Republican party (the Opposition party in the US) and he had not ascribed it to any government

The Home Minister had said in the Lok Sabha that he was in possession of a document prepared by the Republican party which alleged that the ruling Democrat party of President Bill Clinton was arranging arms, providing weapons and ammunition and logistic support to the Pakistan tacked militants in Jammu and Kashmir

The Home Minister had sounded a warning in Parliament, on February 14,ut in the event of an Indo-Pak conflict relation will not come from Pakistan, but from some other south.
