NEW DELHI: Former Union Minister dissident Congress member of the Lok Sabha Rangarajan Kumaramangalam has said he is prepared to bring down the Narasimha Rao Government because its policies have become an embarrassment to the Congress party

In recent reports, Kumaramangalam said he personally believed the Gov. cmment is embarrassing the party.

“You have to distinguish between the Executive arm, the Government which consists of P.V.Narasimha Rao and the Council of Ministers, on one side and the total Congress movement on the other side,” he said.

The former Minister felt the Governmment violated the principles and decisions of the party and disregarded All India Congress Committee (AICC) resolutions Referring to the nine cut motions on the Budget that he has sought to move

in Parliament, Kumaramangalam said he realized that if passed, these motions could bring down the Government

But I hope the Government too realizes that if it violates party resolutions, it is doing something which is unheard of.”

He said if AICC decisions, and the cut motions and issues raised by him, are accepted by the Government, he would have no reason to pursue them or bring down the Government “If not, the Government will face the consequences of violating party resolutions.

Kumaramangalam said he did not think it was any longer “my Government” once it has violated party resolutions

“Why are you telling me that a particular team of people who are in the Government are my Government when they don’t follow my party’s principles,” he asked.
