Man has the tendency to flow to- wards the path of least resistance, whether it be physical or spiritual. It is the easy way out at that period but not without consequences. For a person to go about with their daily flow with- out questioning right from wrong is what the oppressor’s desires.

Bhai Navneet Singh was born in 1965, in Gurdaspur village Khadian to a gursikh family. He entered the gene of resistance, the creators antidote against physical and spiritual oppressors. With the blessing of Waheguru Bhai Navneet Singh’s endeavors started at a very tender age. A daily trip to the gurdwara was a must. He was always sharing and caring and standing up to bullies of his play- mates or weaker friends. He used to speak proudly of the Sikh Gurus and Shaheeds of the panth. The Sakhi of Guru Arzan Dev’s Sha Heedi, Guru Teg Bhadurmartyrdom and especially of Bhai Khanaya Singh ji use to move him to tears.

Bhai Navneet Singh’s humbleness could move hearts of stone. Always owing his good for tunes to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Dhan Guru Gobind Singh ji. He often mentioned that all was by the grace of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He loved his parents and two sisters dearly. It is said that after paying homage to Guru Granth Sahib ji. He used to lie prostrate with hands folded in front of his mothers feet, daily thanking her for bringing him into this world.

Har Navneet Singh was very fond of his father and always reminds him that as a govt. servant he should serve the people honestly. Bhai Navneet Singh’s daily nutmeat of japji Sahib. Tas Sahib, Swaya, Chaupi, Chand Di war and 4-5 Sukhmani Shaib was of great inspiration to his Sangeets.

It was the Gurbani that gave him Shakti when the alone stack up to an anti social element by the name of “boss” in his college. The taming of Boss was such that the local media. Principal and college staff celebrated and thanked Bhai Sahib for standing up against evil, with just a Sri Sahib while on the other hand was the “Boss” and his Badhmash with weapons.

It was as God has destined Bhait Navneet Singh’s life that the massacre of Bidhar brought him to a higher plateau of Sikhism. The massacre of so many Sikh youth at the hands of Hindu militants with the backing of police, left Bhai Navneet Singh searching for spiritual answers. The cover up of murder of his classmates and friends by the state and central govt. baffled and defied Bhai Shaibs saintly soul. Bhai Sahib was already hurt both spiritually and physically by the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib. He could not eat for days when the gross details of murder, rape and torture of men, women and children fell on his pious car. The Bidhar massacre was like Guru Ram Das ji shaking Bhai Sahib by his shoulders and saying “Hey AmritDhari Gursikh if not now when would you stand up to the evil doers.” The humiliation and slogans of militant Hindu mobs echoed in his ears for a long time.

Bhai Sahib completed his education at Guru Nanak Engineering College Ludhiana, His faith in Guru was ever much stronger. Bhai Shaib joined the Khalistan liberation army operating under the wings of the saints.

Singh Wala, Bhai Navneet Singh with the blessing of doing Sewa with such greats as Dr. Pritam Singh. Sekhon Bhai Kuldip Singh, Fauji. Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu and Bhai Davinder Pal Singh. All were aware of his professed love with Bhai Daljit Singh and Dr. Pritam Singh Sekhon. Bhai Sahib is considered to be one of the masterminds of many high profile e militant actions against the Indian government. Bhai Sahib said that “my ardas is to give ever breath of my life to every drop of my blood for the liberation of Khalistan and Chardikala of panth.”

It was with the blessings of Guru Granth Sahib, that the Butcher S.S.P. Sumedh Saini was confronted by the sons of Khalsa, Bhai Navneet Singh and his Gursikh brothers. Traitors of panth such as Balwantah were the successful target of these sons Khalsa. The attack on Manjinder Bittar and kidnapping Radu are also largely attributed to Bhai Sahib and his associates of Rajinder.

True to his steadfast believe in the thought and practice of Sikhism the mighty son of Khalsa was brought down in a hale of bullets by a large number of security forces Bhai Sahib has two sisters. One in India and one in USA Bhai Sahib’s father Bhai Tirath Singh passed away about four months ago. Bhai Navneet Singh found out about his fathers death through a friend, two months later. His mother has been harassed by the police many times and currently is hiding. His sister in India upon hearing the news asked, “Did my brothers die of true Shaheed’s way- fighting? When told yes, she thanked, “Akal Purkh and his Rajah.”
