After the Attack on Harmander Sahib ‘And Delhi Massacres, many of us have and still remain convinced that the only way to save our honor and religion is to have our own sovereign country KHALISTAN. To achieve that goal we have sacrificed the lives/ properties and time of many young and old Sikh ladies and gentlemen.
However after listening to some of the stories from Sikh young men who recently returned from a youth seminar I have started to wonder that even if by God’s Grace we do achieve our ‘goal in the near future, then are we fit for such a country, which by definition is supposed to be land of the Khalsa The Akal Purakh’s army?
I was shocked to learn that in Canada there is a Gurdwara where a Sikh cannot enter the Kitchen simply because he or she does not belong to the same cast as that of gurdwara general population, Similarly I heard about another where Guru Granth Sahib is being read in one room and drinking is being indulged in the adjoining room. Then I learnt that it is a common practice among many Sikh families to go across the border to America, have a Sonogram and abort the child if it is a girl.
But I know this problem is not limited to Canada/look at any matrimonial.ad in any newspaper and you will can see that caste is much more important consideration than even whether the person 1s Keshadhari or even a Sikh, Rather it is not hard to. find ads for “CLEAN SHAVEN GURSIKHS”. Even among Amritdhari Sikhs it is very few who: wear their kirpans all the times or do their Nitnem daily.
So with all such deplorable conditions of the Sikhs not only in foreign countries but even in Panjab, I wonder that won’t it be better to turn our attention to first become real Khalsas both internally and externally and then struggle and pray for it. I am sure Guru Gobind Singh will not hesitate to fulfill his prophesy when he finds us fit for living and ruling over a vast country known as Khalistan.
