NEW YORK: Ronald Kuby, Attomey for Ranjit Singh Gill and Sukhminder Singh Sandhu has told WSN reporters that their case has gone back to court and he believes that the tide is turning in their favor, as new facts about the duplicity of the Indian Government come to light.
Readers may recall that the two were being charged in the assassination of “Blue Star” villain, General Vadaiya after attempting to extradite Suky & Kuky for this crime it was revealed that the evidence against them had been obtained from one of their co accused, a Sukhdev Singh.
Newspaper accounts and court documents showed that Sukhdev Singh denied the confession, a detail that the Indian Government failed to inform US attorneys. The judge then struck down this part of the case.
The India government didn’t give up though it refilled cases of extradition against Bhai Singh and Bhai Gill on evidence obtained from co accused. Bat it has now transpired that most of the co accused” has already been tried and in many cases their charges have been dropped as the Indian Government case grows weaker by the day.
Mr. Kuby is now arguing that the government knowingly provided false evidence, evidence gained by torture, and that the Government of India suppressed evidence that may show the innocence of Bhai Gill and Bhai Singh.
Mr. Kuby is hopeful that the newly assigned prosecutor will not be misled by the Indian Government’s penchant for falsehood and that soon justice will be served.
