Its deadliest supplication has compelled the man now to search for some other set of values to which this technological knowhow may be subordinating in order to save mankind from ‘certain annihilation. Tome, the Sikh way of life as viewed in Guru Granth Sahib 1s the highway to this direction, Balance of Sahaj is a must for happy life and to lead such a life Guru Granth Sahib concludes by saying that based on the consciousness of NAM, the truth (sat), the contentment (santokh) and the thoughtfulness (vichar) should become ‘operative in life. Guru Arjan Dey in his Mundavani reiterates by saying that these three elements of life have to be kept to the heart and could not be afforded to repudiated in Vasti Taji Ne Jace Nit Rakhi Urdahro (GGS 1429), The truth has been given considerably more exposition than the Parmatman because Sikh way of life is not one sided development of personality. Truth is sought to be the basic element fall our worldly interactions which will further lead the man ‘to supreme being, Parma man. In the Mulmantra, the Japji, the Sidh Gosti, the Onkar the foremost problem before Guru Nanak is the oath and the truthful life the second and third most important element of Sikh way of life is contentment (Santokh) and thoughtfulness (Vichar). The contentment in Sikhism is not idleness it is rather thankfulness for the gifts already bestowed by the Lord and determination for being full of activity. As a corollary to the Vichar or thought fullness in our life, the Guru Granth Sahib advises us t0 be conscious of the spirit
