JAMMU: Mr, Lal Krishan Advani, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BIP) has warned against any concessions to Jammu and Kashmir which, according to him, would mean a premium on terrorism and violence.
Advani termed the statement of the Prime Minister in Parliament regarding grant of “something shortofazadi” to the Kashmiris as singularly unfortunate.
Advani said that any concession to Kashmiris at this juncture would send a wrong message to disruptive forces all over. He said that BJP would oppose any such concession and called upon all other parties to come out and oppose the stand.
He also appealed to the Congress Party leaders to specifically study the offer made by their party leader.
He expressed doubts on the acceptability of the offer even within the Congress Party. He strongly advocated the implementation of the Sarkaria Commission report on the Center state relationship which favored ‘devolution of powers to the states.
Advani opposed Kashmiri pandits” demand for a homeland within the valley, Opposing the demand at the “All State Kashmiri Pandits’ conference,” ‘Advani criticized the demand voiced by a Kashmiri pandits’ forum, he said “homeland cannot be the solution.”
He said the return of all displaced Kashmiri pandits with honor and dignity can be the only “solution to all problems.”
Admitting that Kashmiri pandits have been neglected and ignored after their mass migration from the valley. ‘He said it was a matter of shame that none of the four prime minister scared to visit any camp in Jammu or Delhi where displaced families have been lodged.
