NAGPUR; policemen were killed and 13 injured when naxalites, belonging to the peoples war group, blasted a special reserve police force (SRPF) vehicle with a landmine laid on the road at Turumgonda village, five km from Bhamragadh in Gadchroli district of the western Indian coastal state of Maharashira Sunday.
Special inspector general of police, anti naxalite operations, A V Krishnan said the blast occurred shortly after noon when the SRPF van was taking a police party from Primal to Bhamragéh to relieve SRPF Jawans posted at an anti naxalite police outpost.

NEW DELHI: Three persons were killed when a powerful bomb exploded in pilakhua town of Ghaziabad district in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Nov.10., spreading panic among people, the Uttar Pradesh police said.
The dead identified as Sarfaraz, Aftab and Mohammad Yunus were buried under the debris of the house which collapsed under the impact of the explosion, police said, adding that the three were probably making bombs.

VARANSI: Indefinite curfew was clamped in parts of Varansi, in the ancient Hindu city of Uttar Pradesh. Violence which erupted on Friday night even as the toll mounted to eight Saturday, with two persons succumbing to injuries in the hospital.
According to police, indefinite curfew was clamped in the city areas falling under Bhelpur, Dassasmedh, Chowk, Luxa, Cheiganj, Adampura. Kotwali and Jaitpura police station early Saturday morning to contain the violence which erupted during the emersion ceremony of an idol of god dress.
The condition of several injured persons who were admitted to hospitals were described as “critical”.
3 in Assam
GUWAHATI; Three persons, including two United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) militants, were killed and another injured in incidents of shooting and a bomb blast, while 52 suspects were nabbed by the army and police overnight Saturday in the insurgency ridden northeastern Indian state of Assam.
Official reports here Sunday said several arms, ammunition and explosive devices were also seized during the period.
The reports said a high power bomb rocked Jayapara Kochagon in Sibsagar district the state Saturday, killing an ULFA militant. Two of his associates fled away with the body to the nearby jungles.
