NEW DELHI (PTI):  Security personnel rescued three abducted senior Kashmiri district officials from militants, while 83 people, 62 of them militants, were killed in escalated violence in the trouble torn Kashmir valley since July 5.

Security Personnel nabbed 53 militants including self-styled divisional commander of outlawed Al Jehad Abdul Qayoom Badar and area commander of outlawed Ikhwan UI Muslimeen in the period.

Security Forces on Wednesday rescued three abducted senior functionaries of north Kashmir Baramulla district, Mohammad Ramzan and Mohammad Rafi, block development officers of UN and Rafi Abad, respectively and Baramulla executive engineer and arrested five militants who held them hostages.

Security forces rescued the three officers from a militant hideout at Kanlibagh area in Baramulla district. They were abducted on Tuesday outside Baramulla deputy commissioner’s office.
