SAN FRANCISCO: In an interview with WSN, Mr. Abdul Wahab, a member of the Kashmir American council (KAC) said, “Kashmir is paying a heavy price, 800 killed 5,000 injured and 10,000 arrested.” He charged that Indian media did not report the gang rapes of 18 Muslim women. He added that these have been documented on video which will be shown in California shortly.

They want “nothing more or less,” than a plebicite on Kashmir, on the 1949 UN Resolution, he said.

The situation in Kashmir at the moment is grim. There are shortages of food, schools and colleges have been closed indefinitely. There is a half hour difference of time, and Friday instead of Sunday is a holiday.

He expects the struggle to continue and more and more people to take up arms.
