CHANDIGARH: Twenty three persons including eight of a family and five gunmen were killed during September 1415 and 17 people including the general secretary of the CPI(M) affiliated Democratic Youth Federation of India were killed during September 1718 in Punjab.
A gang of gunmen armed with Chinese assault rifles, struck the farmhouse of Jagir Singh in village Rassoolpur in Ferozpur district and shot him and seven members of his family to death on the night of September 14. Those killed included his wife Dalbir Kaur, two sons and daughters-in-law.
