Chandigarh, (PTI) Eight members of a family and a village head were among 12 people killed while three militants were arrested in the strife-torn northern Indian border state of Punjab.
In a major action, a group of 11 gunmen pulled out eight members of a family from their house and shot dead all of them in village Kadarwal in Amritsar district around midnight last Saturday night,
The same group of gunmen later down village head Baghel Singh in the adjoin village of Toleshah.
Militants also shot dead two people including a woman near pukhowala village in Sangrur district a one person was shot dead by militants in a posh colony in Amritsar Saturday night.
