AMRITSAR: A platoon commander of the home guards was among 11 people killed in fresh incidents in Punjab since June 11 nights, police said.
While seven deaths were reported from Amritsar, two and one other person was killed in Ferozepore district. One person was killed in Majitha police district,
The platoon commander was abducted from Kherdeen village. His body with signs of torture was found hanging from a tree on Monday.
In another incident in Pandon Ran Singh village, three brothers were shot dead.
Two persons, Sucha Singh and his son, Satnam Singh, were killed in Puranataner village. Police said internecine rivalry was the cause of the killing. A home guard Jawan Nirmal Singh was shot dead in village Chagalwadi under Jandiala police station.
Two men were killed in an “encounter” with security forces in Ferozepore district Sunday night. One of them was identified as Kashmir Singh.
One civilian was also killed in the exchange of fire, police said.
Two AK47 rifles, three magazines and 110 cartridges of AK47 were recovered from the spot.
In another incident Nirmal Singh of village Chajal Badhi was killed,
On June 10 sixteen persons, including a top freedom fighter, Bakhshish Singh alias Sona, involved in about 100 killings and who, carried a reward of Rs 75,000 on his head, was among six killed.
In other incidents, 10 persons including a CPI leader and three security personnel were killed in the state three men of the Khalistan Commando Force, were nabbed by security forces, Bhai Bakhshish Singh alias Sona was killed after a two hour fierce encounter with security forces in village Fattuwal in Ferozepur district. Besides being involved in number of killings, he had also extorted lakhs of rupees.

Sukhdev Singh, Kashmir Singh and Jamel Singh of the Major Singh Katran of Khalistan Commando Force were killed in inter gang rivalry in village Kamalpur under Ajnala police station.
Eleven people, including two militants were killed and five wounded in Punjab since Friday night.
Two militants with arms were arrested.
Four persons were killed and five injured in Faridkot district when militants fired at some vehicles.
A couple in Batala district was gunned down.
In Ropar district some armed persons shot dead three people at a liquor shop.
Two persons were killed by security forces in Kapurthala district. Four armed persons fired at a patrol party when they were asked to stop. The forces returned the firing killing two of them, while two other escaped.
CHANDIGARH: Twenty seven people were killed in Punjab state since Thursday night while a bomb was detected in time to avert a tragedy in a busy Amritsar market.
Five Pakistani intruders were killed in an encounter with border security force near Karma post on the Indo Pakistan border. Another intruder was killed in the Khem Karan sector.
Pal Singh, was killed in a shootout in village Khabe Doran in Tarn Taran district early Friday.
