AMRITSAR: Six persons were killed on the spot while another 45 were seriously injured when a powerful bomb exploded in a Jammu-bound bus at Malik pur near Pathankot on Sept.28.
Elsewhere, according to UNI, seven militants and two security men were among 14 people killed and nine others injured during the last week of September.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Transport bus left Pathankot bus stand at about 9:00 a.m., 20 minutes later, a bomb lying under a seat exploded, killing all the four passengers reportedly occupying the seat. Those killed could not be identified because their bodies were blown off and flesh pieces and scattered over an area of 50 yards after piercing the through the body of the bus. Two persons later succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
According to the police, the passengers were mostly pilgrims going to the shrine at Vaishno Devi in Katra area of Jammu district.
Those injured have been admitted to two hospitals. Those at the civil hospital at Pathankot are Balkar Singh, Anu, Tinku, Rohit, Jai Chand, Prito, Prince, Sudesh, Jagdish Ram, Matesh, Giano, Babli, Shankar Dass, Sukhdev Singh, Satnam Singh, MajorRam, Krishana, M.M. Aggarwal, Harmohal Lal, Bishan, Usha, Inderjit, Nand Lal, Churi Lal Sutich, Raju Santosh Rani, Karam Singh and Babli.
The names of injured admitted to the military hospital at Pathankot could not be gathered.
Among the injured are 35 men, 14 women and six children,
