TORONTO: Metro Toronto could receive a whopping 40% of the money allocated to the province tinder the Liberal public works program aimed at creating jobs.

Ontario plans to divide federal and provincial funds out of a $1.4 billion, two-year pot among municipalities based on population, sources said. The program is a joint federal provincial municipal plan to improve the country’s roads, sewers and water systems. Municipalities will be required to match the federal and provincial money. When municipalities apply, they will be required to show the province how they’ll raise the ne third matching funds, +3 Private sector loans will be allowed, sources Said.
