Hari and Amar Everest of Yuba City celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary June 7. They were married on June 7,1938, in India and moved to the United States in January, 1955. They came to Yuba City in 1961. He is a retired educator who taught at Yuba College and in the Yuba County Unified School District. He is affiliated with the Sutter Country Democratic Central committee and is president of United Sikhs for Human Rights. His wife is a homemaker. They are affiliated with the Sikh Temple and ethnic advisory council of the education department in Sacramento. They have two children, Dr.Paramjit S.Everest and Manjik K.Dheri, both of Yuba City.
