500 BKU men held

CHANDIGARH: More than 500 BKU activists were rounded up at different entry points to the city as they were arriving to hold a panchayat here.

The proposed BKU panchayat was in protest against the alleged anti-farmer policies of the government. As a precautionary measure the city administration had banned the panchayat in view of the prohibitory orders promulgated in the city.
