NEW DELHI: The Government of India has laid down some stringent conditions to $.G.P.C. before delivering the charge of the Golden Temple Complex, But according to the latest reports, the S.G.P.C. has so far not agreed to give any written or formal consent to those conditions.
The Government has called upon the S.G.P.C. to give assurance that the temple complex will be kept free from the Sikh freedom fighters. In other words, the government wants the S.G.P.C. not to allow any Amrit Dhari young man to enter into the complex. The official spokesman said that the government and S.G.P.C. are Still in close touch with each other, the spokesman described the attitude of the gurdwara committee as very vague. According to him both Buta Singh and Governor S.S.Ray wanted these assurances before the temple could be handed over to the Management Committee.
