BANGALORE(PTI): The Karnataka Special Task Force (STE) killed five aides of Poacher Smuggler Veerappan in anencounter near Parangibetta forest area of the M.H: hills July: 1.
The smuggler Veecrappan was a reward of Rs 4 million on his head, STE Commander, Shankar Bidari said that the force seized large cache of arms and ammunition including gelatin sticks, detona tors, and cride bombs from the 10member group during the en counter, He said, while three persons fell to bullets on the spot, two others died on way to hospital,
It may be recalled that the Kamataka STFBSF combine had arrested seven persons including a promineat ‘Tamil Nadu industrialist for their alleged involvement and support of Veerappan group’s activities, last week. Massive combing operations have been launched to track down the remaining five members of the 8ang, who managed to fles, Bidari Said.
