JAIPUR: At least 40 people including 35 policemen were injured in police firing and stone pelting incidents at Dungargarh in Rajasthan on Thursday.

An agitated mob protesting against the death of an accused in police custody laid siege outside the police station at Dungargarh in Churu district of the state and started pelting stones on police an official spokesman said.

‘As tension prevailed in the city police fired several rounds to disperse the mob. But the situation was described lo be under control the spokesman said

Official reports said an accused involved in a theft case was killed as he jumped out from a police vehicle on Wednesday evening. He was crushed to death by the game vehicle.

Four policemen including three constables were suspended in this connection the spokesman added.
