LUCKNOW: One more person succumbed to gunshots raising the toll in the violence in this city to three an official spokesman said.
One person was killed in police firing and another four were injured when police opened fire on a Stone-pelting mob in the Kasaibara area under the Aminabad police station area.
The spokesman said three policemen were injured when they were conducting house-to-house searches in connection with Jan 15 violent incidents. The police party he said was attacked with brickbats and some explosive material.
When cane-charge failed to disperse the violent mob the police fired about six rounds in which one person was killed on the spot and another succumbed to his gunshot injures in a hospital later he said.
Meanwhile the indefinite curfew clamped in the two police station areas of Aminabad and Kaiserbagh Tuesday continued.
One person was killed and seven others injured Tuesday in incidents of violence and arson in these areas after some shop owners in Aminabad locality protested against a policeman they accused of creating a rift between two communities.
