VARANASI: The senior Samajwadi Party leader and former M.P. Chandrashekhar Singh was shot dead by some scooter-borne unidentified Ogunmen near Ravindrapuri area here on March 3, police sources said. They said Singh along with his son and one other person was going to attend a marriage ceremony in his jeep when some unidentified persons on two scooters sprayed bullets on him.
The jeep dashed against a wall and 1 overturned. Singh died instantaneously on the spot while his son who was driving the jeep and another per- son received bullet injuries and were rushed to B HU hospital in a critical condition.
At least two persons, including a relative of a Janata Dal legislator, were killed and as many jeeps were set on fire in Palamau and Aurangabad districts of Bihar,
Official sources said, that Bateswar Singh, a relative of the Janata Dal Legislator Madhu Singh was shot dead in Konbai forest of Palamau district. Another person identified as Muni Mistri was also shot dead at Belaspur in the same district.
