PATIALA: Twenty two persons including 10 women and five children were killed and 23 others injured when their bus fell into a ditch filled with water at Banur in Punjab.
The bus coming from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh was carrying pilgrims.
The deaths were mostly caused due to drowning as most of the passengers, about 90 in number, were asleep, police said.
The driver and the conductor of the bus fled the site, police said.
