DHAKA: At least 25 people were injured when two rival groups of a girl’s college fought with sticks and stones in Dhaka on Sept.17.
Student violence had so far remained confined to the boy’s colleges.
The clashes began when a group of students of Eden Girls College assembled at college premises to Protest the decision of the authorities not to allow them to hold a rally in support of the program for the “national co-ordination committee for annihilation of the killers and collaborators of 1971 and upholding the spirit of the Liberation war,”
These students, while taking out procession in the campus, clashed with activists of the student wing of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), reports said quoting eyewitnesses.
