SRINAGAR: The former National Conference member of Rajya Sabha, Sharifuddin Shariq, was released by his captors after 144 hours of his kidnapping, while 21 persons, 11 of them militants, were killed and 20 wounded in the Kashmir valley since June 13.
An official spokesman said unidentified militants kidnapped Prof. Faizali from Kashmir University at Hazratbal; a manhunt has been launched to trace him. Ina dramatic development, militants abducted a bank manager and two of his Colleagues at Dalgate but set them free after sometime on Monday, an official Spokesman said here.
He said three Militants, identified as Ali Akbar, Nawab Habibullah and Li i, Killed in an encounter with security forces at Village Kalaroos in Lolab valley of frontier district of Kupwara.
