SRINAGAR: The Chief of the Tiger Liberation Front (TLF) and 85 alleged subversives were arrested from several parts of the Kashmir valley. While militants injured three security men in attacks in this summer capital. Over the week 200 men were arrested.

Denying reports of the arrest of the chief commander of the outlawed Hizbul Mujahideen, Ahsan Dar, with 11 of his accomplices in Baramulla district, an official spokesman said “an important activist of the TLF” was arrested in Srinagar city.

He said 77 suspected militants picked up from different parts of the valley were being “screened”.

Two persons were arrested in Kupwara district while trying to cross over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir for training in arms. Four subversives were captured in Anantnag and two in Srinagar, the spokesman said.

Militants fired at the security forces in Pulwama district in south Kashmir. No one was injured, the spokesman said.

Three security men were injured when militants fired at vehicles of security forces at Lal Bazar in downtown Srinagar Nov 29, the spokesman said.

Militants attacked Safakadal police station from all the four directions late Nov 28. The guard on duty returned the fire but no ‘one was injured, the spokesman said.
