CHANDIGARH (PTI): Two top militants of the “Khalistan Commando Force” were among 31 killed in Punjab on April 12.
Surinder Singh and his accomplice Surinderjit Singh of the KCF were killed the Kapurthala district senior superintendent police (SSP) said.
An Amritsar report said gunmen shot dead two persons and seriously wounded another in the Mustafabad locality of the city. Police said gunmen abducted four persons and took them near a drain where Joginder Singh and Rattan Singh were shot dead and Balbir Singh was seriously injured. The fourth person was reportedly missing.
A Phagwara report said two militants fired at two army persons injuring them when they intercepted their car in Mauli village. The Jawans fired back killing both of them. Five security men were injured when militants ambushed their vehicle near Wadala Bangar village in Gurdaspur district Sunday night.
A militant Ranjit Singh Alias Rana and an unidentified militant were killed when gunmen ambushed a security vehicle near village Damodar in Batala police district.
Gunmen shot dead one Pritam Singh and his son Bhola Singh in village Pandori in Sangrur district while two unidentified bullet riddled bodies were recovered from near village Kot Kharmu in Bathinda district.
Gunmen shot dead a priest Sewa Giriand one of his followers Birbal Singh in village Hassanpur in Sangrur district.
Constable Jaswant Singh and his father Ajit Singh were gunned down by militants in village Dhaler Khurd in Sangrur district
Gunmen killed two brothers at village Dholpur in Batala police district. The bodies of the victims identified as Gurmeet Singh and Amarjeet Singh were found hanging from a tree.
Constable Kewal Krishan was killed when some militants fired at a police patrol near village Qadinwal in Jalandhar district.
The bullet riddled body of a head constable Kuldeep Singh was recovered from near village Bhode Samrama in Jalandhar District.
Three militants identified as Ranjit Singh Haria and Jagdish Singh were killed in Village Rupoowal of Majitha district while another militant was killed in an encounter with security men in village Bage in Amritsar District.
Another unidentified militant was killed in a Separate encounter near village Dhoor in Sangrur district. One Mauser and one Scooter were recovered from the Spot.
In another incident two Persons were killed Surjit Kaur and Jagtar Singh village Jhandu in Bathinda district while one Piara Lal was shot dead in Bhamba Khurd.
