SRINAGAR: Four Kashmiri militant outfits have threatened newspaper agents in the valley with “dire consequences” if they were found selling or purchasing or carrying the dailies Kashmir Times and Excelsior.

Describing the two dailies as “mouth pieces” of the governor’s administration, the banned outfits in a statement to the press, accused these newspapers with carrying “anti-movement” propaganda.

The four outfits are: Hizbul Mujahideen, People’s League, Hizbul Islami and Tehreek-I-Jehadi Islami.

The Al-Umer Mujahideen, meanwhile, has announced a unilateral ceasefire for 10 days in view of Eid E Milad (birthday of Prophet Mohammed) which falls on October 3.
