CHANDIGARH: Nineteen militants of the Khalistan Commando Force and Khalistan National Army and their harborers have been arrested by the Haryana police during the past week reports PTI quoting an official spokesman here.

He said the police had also identified the gang responsible for the killing of the Panipat BJP chief Dr.Mahender Ranjan.

The spokesman did note laborate saying disclosures at this stage would affect the investigations.

The spokesman said a joint operation was being undertaken with the Punjab police to track down the Babbar Khalsa militants who had established their hideouts in Ambala and Panchkula areas of Haryana.

The Babbar Khalsa has been mainly operating in Patiala and Ropar districts adjoining Ambara he said.

Eleven Suspected militants and their harborers had been arrested in connection with the gunning down of three Haryana policemen at Faggu barrier in Sirsa district adjoining Punjab on July 25 last the spokesman said. The arrested included Surjit Singh sarpanch of Faggu village. However the three main accused were still absconding.

The three identified on the basis of interrogation of the arrested persons are Jasbir Singh Gurjant Singh and Balwinder Singh all belonging to the Khalistan Commando Force (Zafarwal).
