NEW DELHI: Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here removed a giant tumor weighing 19 kg from the right ovary of a patient.
The 25 year old patient from Nepal, who weighs only 35 kg after a three hour grueling operation, is doing well, Dr. Deep Takkar, additional professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology said.
The tumor which is 200 times the size of a normal ovary and weighs 500 times as much, lay pressed against the chest, gut, spleen, kidneys and liver of the patient, Jayakala making it difficult for her to breathe, move, eat or drink.
