COLOMBO: At least 17 suspected activists of the Sinhala militant Janata Vimukti Peramuna (JVP) or their sympathizers were killed in separate incidents of violence in the Sinhala majority central and southern parts of Sri Lanka since Sunday night, military sources said.
Five persons were killed by an unidentified armed gang in Moneragala district.
