JAMMU: More than 150 big and small bridges have been burnt in the Kashmir valley as a result of the ongoing hostilities between the Indian security forces and the Kashmir militants.
Officials said vital communication links, particularly in the southwestern areas of Kashmir, were being snapped to help militants flee and keep changing their hideouts on short notices.
They said most of the bridges have been destroyed in fire incidents in the areas falling too left of the Jhelum from Shopian town in south Kashmir to Uri in western Kashmir.
However, many other communication links have also been damaged in Sopore and Baramulla.
